Referendum Approved by Voters

The voters have spoken.

We want to preserve more of Sarasota County for future generations.

Many people worked very hard to help pass these referendum questions.

The result was overwhelming approval.

Save Our Sarasota wishes to thank those members of our community that invested many long hours in this project.

Future generations will truly appreciate your efforts.

Thank you!

It seems to require a threat to rouse human beings to certain issues. I'm certain that the rapid rise of cement in our downtown area and the alarm it has created, have impelled people to appreciate,as never before, our open space environment.I believe that's the reason so many people voted for our precious environmentally sensitive lands.

Let's hope this call for balance continues.

I am so proud of this county. And thanks to the group that worked so hard and effectively to make an affirmative vote come to pass. And the media for their support. It truly sends a message as to what citizens value in the city, the suburbs, and the rural areas of Sarasota.
